What can you say about the news - Flipper is saying nothing but platitudes, The Prez is keeping the course and the press? The Press is basically wringing its collective hands. Tired of them, I am.

He's Baack

Gosh, sorry I was gone so long. The world spins weirldly, doesn't it. A few jerks make the whole Military Police Corps (of which I am a former member) stink. I'll never forgive 'em for that. And Ted Kennedy says it's just like Saddam. If I haven't mentioned it before, he's total idiot.

Then the terrorist bastards behead an American on tape - and our fair and balanced news agencies: give it a day and go back to jerk MP's taking nudie pictures of Iraqis.

And then it's moral equivalence time: yes, the abuse and idiocy at Abu Ghraib is the same as the killing and beheading of a guy working in Iraq. He wasn't a bad guy, didn't have a knife at the head of the guys who took him prisoner and slaughtered him. Most of the guys at Abu Ghraib are there becuase they took up arms against the coalition or hid those who did. Nick Berg was just a guy. Building some Cell towers. A little weird - like many of us. And when Abu Musab al-Zarqawi cuts off his head in public like the barbarian he is, some people saw that as the moral equivalence to the stull at Abu Ghraib. Tom Teepen has it right. Nick Berk's killers won't redeem themselves, and can't.

To the members of the 800th MP Brigade, I say to you, fellow MPs - we all need to be ashamed. Many of you are 95 Bravos and some of you are Charlies. I was a Bravo. Like some of you, I knew there was a time and a place to teach people placed under apprehension a little lesson, but that's the furthest it should ever get. Our brothers and sisters who were in on this were wrong, and if you guys know any more, you should go, right now, and rat 'em out.
